Where did Chandrashekhar Azad Die

“Dushman ki goliyon ka hum samna karenge, Azad hee rahein hain, azad hee rahenge”

-          Chandra Shekhar Azad

Chandrashekhar Azad (Panditji) were a great revolutionary and freedom fighter of India. He died on 27th February, 1931 in Alfred Park, Allahabad.

Story of his Death

Virbhadra Tiwari was one of the supporters of Chandrashekhar Azad and his party. But he would never indulge in any risky activity and always tried to avoid conflicts. So Chandrashekhar Azad wanted to test his devotion for the party and he sends him to one of the Congress Non-violence movements wherein he was arrested and sent to jail.

When Kailashpati one of the other man with them got arrested, he disclosed his partners name and police arrested all the revolutionaries except Virbhadra and Virbhadra and Inspector Shambhu Nath who was working for British were neighbours and Virbhadra told him about the locations of freedom-fighters including Chandrashekhar Azads’. Before the shoot-out at Alfred Park, Chandrashekhar Azad sees him near the park and calls him but he ignores the call. Even after getting surrounded from four sides, Azad fights fiercely and kills three policemen, but unfortunately he was alone, surrounded from all sides and no ammo, he shoots himself.

He became a martyr and did what he said “Azad hee rahein hain, azad hee rahenge” (We were always free and we will always be free)
